As to play role as facilitator for the disadvantage sectors YODESS initiated facilitating inputs on perspective building, advocacy processes and professional development among rural and social groups in the region to fulfill the long felt need of the community and with the goal of changing the development era from needs to rights. YODESS aims to become as a platform to streamline the traditional asset of the region, in the process empowering women to have better control of their lives and resources and enable them to establish themselves both in the personal and professional fronts bringing about positive and visible changes in their community.

At present it has been able to keep its developmental steps in all the districts of Sikkim by achieving its importance as a state level organization in community development. 

YODESS has been awarded and appreciated by different government departments, organization, sponsored agencies and the community as well based on its outstanding effort in development.

VISION STATEMENT
We long for a just and peaceful society in which each individual and each community is empowered and self-reliant; where human dignity, equal rights and equal opportunities are enjoyed by all and after which we may feel proud being Indian as Ideal country citizen.                                                                                                                                              

MISSION
YODESS is dedicated to promoting empowerment of people, protection of the environment, and respect for cultural diversity. The organization focuses its initiatives on committed, grass roots organizations that rely strongly on volunteer efforts and where its services will make a significant difference.                                                                         
Our purpose is to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations, youth groups to achieve mission-driven results. Since its activation, we have provided quality, affordable management consulting and board recruitment services to remarkable numbers of nonprofit groups.                                                                                                                             
We support and strengthen the development process of the poor communities in our region, particularly in Sikkim by: helping the poor to help themselves as well as the development and Community Based Organizations, through participatory trainings towards different development programs.                                                                                        
Providing technical support to agencies, institutions and organizations involved in people’s development.                      
Developing and promoting income generating activities for long run sustainability of socio economic development motto.                                                                                                                                                                                     
Promoting Women & Youth entrepreneur, farmer’s community by way of providing training on production & service sector as well as initiating development local resource base SSIs.
